30+ Best Free Birthday Meals in Tampa & Saint Petersburg

Being the deal-lover I am, I used to claim free birthday meals in Ann Arbor, Michigan almost every year on my birthday— it was a whole family thing where’d we go on each others birthdays and spend the whole day eating our way through the city. I loved spending my birthday this way because I really feel like I’m getting spoiled while not having to break the bank!

This year (2021) was my first birthday living in Saint Petersburg, FL so I scoured the internet for free birthday meals in Tampa and St. Pete. To my disappointment, most blog posts had misleading titles and were not specific to the Tampa Bay area. I did find there aren’t as many free offers and birthday meals in Tampa / Saint Petersburg from small businesses like there are in Ann Arbor, but after more research and asking in local FB groups I was able to compile a pretty solid list!

Note: I’m only including offers that I feel are actually good value and worth your time to visit because you can find giant lists of anything and everything all over the internet, haha!

Birthday Coupon Sign-Up Tips

1. Sign up at least a month in advance

You will have the best chance to receive all of your free birthday meals in your inbox if you sign up as soon as possible. Additionally, some offers require a first purchase before your birthday coupon will be loaded into your account. Planning in advance will give you time to do so.

2. Make sure offers are still the same

Free birthday meals and offers are always changing…what may have been valid for me might be different for you. Make sure to read the offer details when on the e-mail sign-up page to make sure it’s available.

Send emails to an account where you don’t mind a ton of e-mails being sent to or create a new e-mail to keep your birthday offers all in one place.

Don’t have time to finish reading? Pin for later!

How I Use as Many Offers as Possible

1. Combine all “day of” deals

I look at all of my “day of” offers and narrow it down to the best breakfast, lunch, and dinner spots and then add shopping, drinks, and desserts in between to break up the day.

2. Bring a Significant Other/Friend!

You will most likely need someone else for the BOGO offers anyways so bring someone with you who can help you eat! The worst thing that can happen is getting too full where you don’t want any more offers.

My Finding's Tip: Don't order anything in addition to the offers, you'll get full too fast.

3. Plan a route

I make sure to plan a route that makes sense and eliminate offers that are too far out of the way. I try and base the day around the places I don’t want to miss and sprinkle in any extras that are in the area.

4. Read the fine print

When you have an inbox FILLED with free birthday meals it’s hard to remember which places offer what. A mistake I almost made was forgetting to re-read the fine print. Some deals have purchase minimums, party size, or days of the week restrictions.

My Finding's Tip: Call places without an E-Club to make sure offer hasn't changed.

5. Wait to use coupons with a long expiration window

Most coupons are valid for a month ex. Sept. 6-Oct 6th, however, some expire a couple of days later or on the last day of the birthday month. Make sure to keep track of which ones should be more of a priority.

My Birthday Itinerary in St. Pete & Tampa

I live in St. Pete so I started at First Watch on 4th street. While on 4th St, I also grabbed my Mini Bundt from Nothing Bundt Cakes, the infamous bday Starbucks, and then I headed to the nearby Baskin Robbins.

Next, I went over to Hyde Park Village in Tampa for shopping! I didn’t, but you could get your dozen of Krispy Kreme on the way to Tampa. I was able to hit Anthropologie, Madewell, Sephora, Kenda Scott, Francesca’s, & Sprinkles all in one place.

That took some time so afterward, you might be getting thirsty or hungry… you could stop at Grimaldi’s Pizzeria by the Westshore Mall and then McAllister’s for tea, and your free cookie. I did additional shopping/errands (here are 7+ ideas in Tampa to kill time!) and then left Tampa for downtown St Pete for my free dinner with friends at Stillwater Tavern (which was phenomenal!).

I made a fun Instagram reel if you want a fun look inside my birthday, click here 🙂

I had fun claiming the remaining free birthday meals throughout the rest of the month. If you have a birthday at the end of the month you might need to use start using the offers at the start of the month or see if they overlap for the next month.

If you’re a local and know of any free birthday meals in Saint Petersburg/Tampa/Clearwater I may have missed please share in the comments! 🙂

Awesome job on the birthday finds Rach! That Stillwater sounds great and you found so many shopping ones. Wonderfully illustrated! I’ll skip the Krispy Kreme, too!
