Easy 15 Minute Mango Kiwi Sweet Heat Fruit Salad
This post is all about how to make my mango kiwi fruit salad. It’s light and fresh from the fruit, basil, and citrus. Offset with a kick of spice from the cayenne and sweetness from the honey. This fruit salad can be made in about 15 minutes!

The creation
One day I was trying to figure out how to use up my leftover mangos. I started exploring what I had on hand and started tossing things into a bowl. I kept trying it and adding more things and knew I was onto something when the flavors starting complimenting each other.
I was iffy on adding in the basil because it seemed too out there. But I was like I go bold or I go home, lol! That element is one of my favorites of the fruit salad, it complements the lime and offsets the sweetness of the fruit with a little earthiness!

If you don’t already have a vegetable peeler, you can always just use a knife carefully to skin the kiwi.

Sweet Heat Kiwi & Mango Fruit Salad
Equipment
- vegetable peeler
Ingredients
- 2-3 kiwis
- 2 mangos
- 1/2-1 lime fresh not bottled
- 1/4 tsp cayanne powder
- a few pinches shredded coconut unsweetned
- 3 fresh basil leaves optional additional 2 for garnish
- 1 tbs honey (to tatste)
Instructions
- dice mangos
- skin and dice kiwi
- finely chop the basil
- add mango, kiwi, and basil to small mixing bowl
- add remaining ingredients and mix together, taste and add more lime juice or honey if desired
